Hello
I would like to ask you if the next generetion windows (windows vista) will support motherbord with the VIA chipset K8VT800 PRO
Thx in advance

vista motherboard support
The closest thing I could find is this: http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/chipsets/k8-series/k8t890/ and that most probably will. It's not normally about the motherboard or the processor or even the chipset, it's normally down to whats ON the motherboard. A very basic computer... onboard sound and video, 256MB RAM, 2Ghz processor will run Vista... just not very well :o)

check out the website of al your components and see if they have any drivers for vista, find out if those drivers are 32 bit or 64 bit, and only install when you know you have your bases covered, there are some drivers that run on vista to get you started, but they suck, and you should find as many proper drivers as possible, which are still kind of rare. some of the drivers built for xp still work, but installing them will give you constant warnings and i have been successful ignoring those warnings for some things, but many of these drivers dont work properly. in build 5270, i installed it on an asus a8n-e mobo with an amd athlon64 3000+ with 2 gbs dual dual channle ram, most of the drivers used were those from windows xp 64, which worked fine, they were the only drivers available, i was using the 64 bit version of vista 5270. the only driver problems i had was the network controller, which hated itself and reinstalled at every boot.
soon some more vista drivers will be coming out though hopefully, though its still in beta, there are allready a few drivers.
